Who: Required training for Scoutmasters/Asst. Scoutmasters and recommended for all adult leaders, including Venturing Advisors and Assoc. Advisors.
What: Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) is a dynamic, informative and hands on training for adult leaders in the Troop, Team and Crew. While it is required for top leaders, ALL LEADERS are encouraged to attend to ensure your unit has effective outdoor leadership.
You will learn and practice the patrol method of Scouting. You will also learn introductory skills such as lashing & knots, cooking, first aid, map and compass, backpacking, leave no trace and firebuilding. Planning campouts and locating resources will also be covered. This is a very informative and FUN weekend - ask your fellow Scouters who attended this past spring!
Wood Badge is not a replacement for IOLS - this is a completely different training focused on OUTDOOR skills.
When: Sat. Oct. 20 - Sun. 21, 2018
